Ruth Ray Hunt Memorial Garden of Honor

Ruth Ray Hunt Memorial Garden of Honor

The memorial, 'We Will Always Remember,' is the centerpiece of this peaceful spot in the Garden of Honor located on the property, which will forever remember the fallen heroes past and present.  The two angels are holding a fallen firefighter and fallen police officer transitioning them from earth to heaven with victory wreaths in hand.  The six uniforms represent the police and firefighters who serve our community daily.  The empty pegs symbolize those who have lost their lives in the line of duty.

Artist Bob Hogan was commissioned in 2006 by the Children of Ruth Ray Hunt to create this memorial piece commemorating the first responders who have died honorably in the line of duty.  This work was sculpted in clay, molded in bronze and sits atop a limestone base crafted by stone mason Barney Pyle.

The brave men and women were dedicated to the pursuit of excellence, the protection of life and property, and the proud tradition of public safety services.  Our community is eternally grateful to those who have sacrified so much.
